ATTACK OF THE DOWNLOADS |
|
Just
under 2 weeks until Star Wars returns to the small screen. Even if you don't
read the books, flick thru the comic, or play the games then the very least you
can do is catch the new Clone Wars mini-series on the Cartoon Network.
The official site (click
here) has posted some very pleasing plus some very disheartening news.
The good news for Hyperspace Members;
Twenty minutes after each episode is broadcast on Cartoon Network in the US,
it will be available on Hyperspace in quicktime format - large and high
quality. There will also be a version with an audio commentary by the creator
of the series, Genndy Tartakovsky.
The bad news for Australian Non Hyperspace Members;
The day after each episode is broadcast on Cartoon Network in the US, for a
limited time only, it will be available on CartoonNetwork.com and StarWars.com
in streaming video format - lower resolution and only available to US based
internet users. CartoonNetwork.com will also have a different audio commentary
from Genndy Tartakovsky for those who aren't as familiar with Star Wars.
Now that is one good reason to sign up for
Star
Wars Hyperspace today, and yet another example of how the US still think
they are the center of the universe. |

VAMPED VEHICLES AND VESSELS
|
|
Before
you think that the people at Lucas books and Del Ray are trying to make you buy
the same book twice just for a few bonus pages, you best have a good look
inside. Star Wars: The NEW Essential Guide to Vehicles & Vessels is
more that just a rehash (Hasbro take note). This
book is a must have for all Star Wars Fans. Gone are the pencil sketches,
brushed aside by the computer graphic genius of Ian
Fullwood. Full of amazing images of starship, fighter, ground craft , and
even organic vehicles. Plus hyperdrive tables, major battle maps, and a short history
of war in a "galaxy far, far away". This
book is fantastic, as both a great read and feast of artist
work. Check
with your local bookshop for your copy today, ring a specialty stores in
our OZ RETAIL section, or send us an email to

GOLD CLASS COMES TO MOUSEDROID
|
|
The wait for Star Wars Episode III is just over 580 days away. But that is no excuse to miss out on some awesome sci-fi and fantasy films that will hit the screen in the meantime. For those people in NSW we will be arranging group screenings of the big blockbuster in the pampered luxury of the GOLD CLASS Theatres at Macquarie Greater Union Megaplex.
To kick it off we have organized screenings of two big titles for the remainder of 2003. In November we experience the final showdown of Man vs. Machine in the sci-fi world of 'MATRIX REVOLUTIONS', followed by the closing book in J.R.R. Tolkens, 'LORD OF THE RINGS: RETURN OF THE KING' in December. Each movie is an epic event,
and each Gold Class screening has very limited tickets, so for more information
on what's on (while we wait for the release of Star Wars Episode III) head to the newly opened
GOLDCLASS MOVIECLUB.
