STAR WARS GAMES A BIG HIT |
|
Star
Wars games were very popular last year and as such took out two of the top
categories in the 2006 Interactive Entertainment Industry Awards. Run by
the Interactive Entertainment Association of Australia (IEAA), awards were
scored by Star Wars Battlefront II PS2 (Best Selling Action Game) & Star
Wars Episode III PS2 (Best Selling RPG).
Also an interesting report on the
IEEA website reports that
the average Aussie gamer is 24years old with 38% of gamers being female. We can
only keep our fingers crossed that Lucasarts are secretly working on a whole new
generation of Star Wars games for release in the next 18 months ;) |

OUTBOUND FLIGHT NOVEL |
|
Jedi
Master Jorus C’baoth petitions the Senate for support of a singularly ambitious
undertaking. Six Jedi Masters, twelve Jedi Knights, and fifty thousand men,
women, and children will embark–aboard a gargantuan vessel, equipped for years
of travel–on a mission to contact intelligent life and colonize undiscovered
worlds beyond the known galaxy.
It began as the ultimate voyage of discovery–only to become the stuff of lost
Republic legend...and a dark chapter in Jedi history. Now, at last, acclaimed
author Timothy Zahn returns to tell the whole extraordinary story of the
remarkable–and doomed–Outbound Flight Project. Available via Imported
Hardback now at Galaxy Bookshop with the local print due in April. |

EMPIRE AT WAR DELAYED |
|
Some
good news and some "not so good" news. Firstly, the release date for Empire
at War in Australia has now been confirmed as the
21st of February (not the 7th). The good news is that the Demo was
actually a "Reduced Feature" release of the game with many enhancements, such as
improved AI, deactivated, hence making it fun to play for all.
So whilst you eagerly await the game to arrive have a read of the the spec and
news at
EA Play or read up on the
Developers Q&A at Lucasarts. |

START OF A NEW STAR WARS LEGACY |
|
It's
time for all of the rumors to end and for all of the wild, unsupported
speculation to begin. Dark Horse announced today that the new Star Wars series
for 2006 is call Star Wars
Legacy. Set 100 years 'beyond' everything we know it will
feature A female
Maul-like Twi'lek and Cade
Skywalker. great grandson of Luke...maybe???
Now, we here at Mousedroid.com love the Knight of the
Old Republic Era, but given the mixed reaction amongst fan over the New Jedi
novels we are not too sure that a post Star Wars series like Legacy is a good
thing or a bad thing. Have your say in Forum Area...<here> |
