ORIGINAL TRILOGY CLASSIC - BAD NEWS

The news is spread across the internet regarding the 2006 release of the Classic Original Trilogy on DVD. At first hard core classic fans were thrilled but a recent release of details of the DVD's has left much to be desired. There are numerous sites across the Star Wars Fan network but here are a couple of the more interesting links.

Tbone's Star Wars Universe DVD Discussion, Anamorphic FAQ.
The Digital Bits: Bad News, 2cents worth, What is Anamorphic?
Ain't It Cool news: Rant & Rave,
Video Business: Original Star Wars 'Bonus' - Lucasfilm replies.

There are some very vocal Aussie fans that like to sit around moaning how this release is "cr#p, poor effort, not worthy, etc" but never raise a finger to do anything about it. Don't be a Negative Nancy...Phone, Fax, Email or Write to Lucasfilm to show your disgust. More details at OriginalTrilogy.com. Discuss this with the Local Star Wars crowd in our Forums.

SHADOW STORMTROOPER - USA ONLY

We have just received official confirmation that no local stock of the Shadow Stormtrooper (Black Stormtrooper) will be available. It appears this may be the start of Hasbro Exclusives being limited to USA retailers. So, if you want this figure, the only place on the planet to get one will be StarWarsShop.com for US$14.99 plus shipping (limit 5)

Do you think this is a good move by Hasbro Internationally? Is making a single retailer worldwide exclusive better for the collectors? Do you wish future exclusives made available locally to help save on cost and shipping price? Then, don't sit there all quite like...Post your views in our Forum.

PARRAMATTA AUTUMN  FAIR

Advice to all our Sydney/NSW readers; Case Fresh will not be attending the Parramatta Collectibles Fair. With business growth over the last couple of years, attending the Fair takes time away from servicing the needs of on-line customers. But if you are still in the hunt for vintage figures and other collectibles get up bright and early for an 8am start.

More details on Parramatta Fair and more can be found in our Events Section.

THE WAY THEY WERE 'ORIGINALLY' MEANT TO BE

See the title crawl to Star Wars before it was known as Episode IV; see the pioneering, if dated, motion control model work on the attack on the Death Star; groove to Lapti Nek or the Ewok Celebration song like you did when you were a kid; and yes, see Han Solo shoot first. Finally, the Original Trilogy "as they were released" are coming to DVD!!!

Mousedroid.com has confirmed with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, that Australia will see the  new two-disc sets of all three Original Trilogy movies around September 20th, 2006. Each release includes the 2004 digitally re-mastered version of the movie, as well as the original theatrical edition of the film with Dolby 2.0 Surround sound, close-captioning, and subtitles.

A box set is also rumored, as are a host of other tie-in product releases. Check back for more info on the Australian Release product as it comes to hand. It truly was a very Happy Star Wars Day :)
