RED CARPET @ FOX STUDIOS

Two very luck Mousedroid.com reports were able to get into the Hayden Christensen Trailer Junket held at Fox Studios this week. With the proceeding week full of rumors of the first 8mintues of movie footage and exclusive Making of Episode II documentaries...just what did happened on the night? Read on...

VIP REPORT

Red Carpet @ Fox Red Carpet @ Fox Red Carpet @ Fox Red Carpet @ Fox

As is typical with these events it started late as about 200 people piled into Cinema 2 at Hoyts Fox Studios. We were first shown a couple of behind the scenes web documentaries and a "sizzle" reel of Hayden in action as Anakin Skywalker. Hayden Christensen was then introduced who in turn introduced the recent trailer for Ep3. After it was shown once Hayden asked for it to be shown again, much to the delight of the fans. After that Hayden took some Q & A from the Star wars faithful, with questions ranging from "what's your next project" to "are you single?" (girls, yes he is!) After that we were again shown the trailer and a montage reel from all six films. Then it was over, we weren't shown anything we really hadn't seen before, rumours had ranged from we were going to see the first 8 minutes of the film to the first reel, but alas it wasn't to be.

The event continued for those of us fortunate to have VIP passes at arena restaurant a few doors down where Hayden made another appearance. He had plenty of photos taken with the girls in attendance and was happy to sign anything for the fans. I was fortunate enough to be able to make my way through the throng of women surrounding Hayden, shake his hand and have a few words. He is a genuinely nice bloke and nothing was a hassle for him at all and he was quite prepared to talk to anyone who approached him. The crowd thinned out at about 9pm and Hayden went back to his hotel. He is in the country until Sunday when he flies to the UK to do a similar event there.

RED CARPET REPORT

Red Carpet @ Fox Red Carpet @ Fox Red Carpet @ Fox Red Carpet @ Fox

Hey guys, STU-9 here just to let you know how the night at Fox Studios went. I went down hoping to get a few photos and maybe an autograph as I couldn't manage to win tickets on nova during the week to get inside, anyway I rocked up with my rots shirt on hoping to attract his attention and my missus who isn't into star wars at all tagged along, she wondered off to talk to the Nova96.9 lady to ask if anyone hadn't shown up and whether there was any spare tickets. She came back with two lanyard passes to get inside for which I will be forever in her debt.

I manage to get a photo with Hayden and got him to sign my lanyard plus my Empire magazine showing him aboard the Tantive IV. After that we went in and grabbed a seat at the front. They had a goodies bag waiting for us with toy lightsaber and some M&M's and some Lipton Ice Tea. The Fox Studio guy then introduced two webdocs (both available on starwars.com) and then Hayden introduced the new trailer shown for the 1st time in Australian cinemas. After it aired he grabbed the mike and said "How cool was that, I don't know about you guys but I want to see that again", so again they showed it.

They followed that with a Q&A session where a few people asked the standard questions. How does it feel to be Vader? What's it like working with r2d2? Are you single? (which he is for all the ladies wondering), I got my question in "did you get harassed while in Sydney for wearing a mullet"? Dumb question but I choked and couldn't think of anything else. He was a champion of a bloke and answered all questions put to him and signed lots of autographs outside. So all in all it was an awesome night even if no new footage was shown. I loved it and walked away with a big grin, two autographs and a cool photo destined for my wall in a nice frame.
