OVERVIEW

It is common knowledge among Star Wars fans that in Revenge of the Sith the ill fated Jedi are destined to have their worst day ever. Now you can experience the final days of the Clone Wars, the destruction of the Republic and the birth of the first Galactic Empire as you play through 16 compelling levels of all out Jedi action.

Players start off as Anakin Skywalker and fight alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi in the opening scenes of the film aboard General Greivous’s command ship The Invisible Hand. Both characters begin at the same level, with their paths diverging as Anakin begins his decent to the darkside. As to which character you control and where depends on where you are in the story arc but one thing is for sure we all know where it is going to end.

Characters are upgradeable as you progress through the game with each having a variety of unlockable combos and upgradeable Force powers allowing you to customize the two Jedi to your own unique tastes. But no matter what choices you make upgrading both characters, their core personalities will shine through. Anakin - flashy, incredibly powerful, and, eventually, wicked and evil. Obi-Wan, on the other hand, is the consummate hero. His speed, precision, and unshakeable focus allow him to handle challenges that Jedi more powerful than him could never face.

With ease, players can perform a wide range of amazing combination attacks in all directions, including the skill of blocking or deflecting ranged weapon attacks, plus the ability to use lightsabers to cut through doors and interact with a variety of other destructible objects unique to each world. Use the Force to lift or throw objects, push, pull, throw or confuse enemies and even to attack using interactive elements found in the environments of the worlds of Coruscant, Utapau and Mustafar.

STORYLINE

The game itself not only closely follows the film in its storyline but takes key movie sequences and expands them. In fact the game includes many elements that were written and shot for the film, but did not make the final cut. This provides fans with an opportunity to explore further their favourite scenes from the film.

One of the biggest selling points of the game is the fact that over 20 minutes of actual Revenge of the Sith movie footage is included which form the cut scenes at the beginning and end of each level. Fans wanting to avoid spoilers should stay clear as some key elements of the film are revealed right before your very eyes. Those not too concerned with such things will still have a bevy of exciting moments to experience come May 19.

One thing unique to gaming is its open-endedness and Revenge of the Sith is no exception with the opportunity to totally change the history of the Star Wars universe. You may at first think your ultimate Jedi action experience concludes and that the game is over once you've lived the film's unforgettable climactic duel and defeated Anakin as Obi-Wan on Mustafar, but it's not. After that you can replay the battle wielding the power of the dark side as Anakin. If you manage to defeat your former master a shock alternate ending is triggered and from that point on you will know that the galaxy will never be the same again.
