What would your costume cost to make
from scratch?
Assuming you had all the vacu-forming equipment and sheets of ABS, and the
armour moulds, not much really. But then you'd also have to be experienced in
molding plastic. The ancillary pieces, ie, undersuit, gloves, clips etc probably
run to about $500. Plus there are the boots as well. |
|
Is it more than just roleplaying? What does it mean to you?
I've never role played before. I just like getting myself in as many peoples
photos as possible. Everyone's photo album should have at least one picture of
me in it

What advice could you give to a newbie
starting out?
Try & purchase a completed suit with all the accessories to begin Troopin'
straight away. I purchased a TK on eBay. If that is not an option to you due to
finances, do your homework on suppliers, ask Troopers for their opinion on your
choice of supplier for each component. |
|
Do you display your suit when you aren't wearing it?
! I have my own basic mannequin constructed of PVC pipe. This ensures your
armour never sits in a box in the cupboard where it will never give you the
inspiration to wear it. My TK armour watches over me when I go to bed, so if
it's the last thing you see at night & the first thing you see in the morning,
you'll want to wear it as often as possible! It's also an incentive to say to
visitors, 'Hey, have you seen what's in the bedroom?' and watch their response!

Have you had a surreal moment whilst in
costume?
Plenty of them. The most memorable though would be my first ever troop -
walking out in public with the bucket on and seeing the awed reaction of the
public. |
|
Kids must love the suit but how about the ladies?
If the ladies love the suit, they've never let me know about it.
