PAINTING AND WEATHERING SANDTROOPERS
PIC - 6 & PIC - 7 The Sandtroopers are a mix of VOTC Imperial Troopers and a Saga Sandtrooper from Habro, I put them into the postions I wanted and then superglued the joints intp place.

PIC - 8,9,10 & 11 The Troopers then had there equipment and weapons superglued in place then the joints were and left shoulder armour were filled in and reconstructed using Games Workshops Greenstuff, a two part putty that needs to be kneaded so you can work with it. Don't worry about the greenstuff going dry to quick as long as you keep it wet/moist it can be used for some time, and it is easy to work with.

PIC - 12 Once the Greenstuff has dried which was about 6 hours I gave the figures a wash of GW's Chaos Black I used 2 parts paint to 3 parts water to get the desired thickness. Don't be shy when giving your figures a wash as any excess paint will be wiped off.

PIC - 13 Leave the figures to dry for about 15-20 minutes and then drybrush them using Vallejo's Pure white this will help to tone down the black wash you did earlier but still give the figure that dirty look.

PIC - 14 & 15 When you've completed the drybrushing start adding on the details by painting the black areas with GW's Chaos Black this will include such things as rifles, backpacks, joints, parts of the helmet etc. When the black has dried give the rifles and Backpacks a drybrush of GW's Mithril Silver but don't over do it as it will make the weapons look to worn.

With the shoulder pads I painted the white one with Vallejo's Pure White and the Orange//Red with GW's Scab Red and Balzing Orange. The backpacks filters Blue parts were painted with GW's Space Wolves Grey so was the grey parts on the Troopers helmets.

Once all the fine details are painted in give the figures a drybrush of Vallejo's Brown Sand to simulate the sand over the armour, again don't worry to much were it goes as sand will get into everything, and one dry give the figures a spray of Testors Dull Coate this will help blend the colours together to give a more realistic appearance.

Oh and the Droid part the Trooper with the white shoulder armour is holding is a 1/6 scale(12 inch) button painted silver and glued in place.
