Supanova 2004 blasted into Sydney on the weekend and was
greeted with a very warm response from the hordes Uber-geeks (myself included)
that were able to attend this great event. Called a 'Pop Culture Expo' this 2
day event had something for everyone. Be you a fan of comics, collectibles,
anime, video games , trading cards and miniature gaming. You name it and it was
sure to be covered.
But most probably the biggest draw card in the Supanova
deck is the Special Guest. From Movie & TV stars, to your favorite
Comic artist, you had access to converse or grab an autograph or two from them
for most of the day. Plus a Seminar Series of Q&A's were held with each of
the Guest so you could finally get a definitive answer to that burning question
you have always wanted to ask.
So what do you do when not being an autograph hound???
You go shopping , of course. With the best of Sydney's
Comic and Collectibles Stores under one roof it was very difficult not to walk
out of the expo at the end of the day with money in your wallet. There was just
far too many tempting goodies to buy. but, when your money runs out you could
always just just kick back and watch a show in the Anime Theatre or join in the
fun of games & tournaments in the Anime Area.
All up, Sydney Supanova 2004 was an absolute blast.
So, watch out Brisbane come September 18&19 when Supanova hits your city.
