Once again a quiet weekend for Star Wars collectors across
Australia. But not so for our favorite Toy Retailers, as they have been busy
checking out the new toys & toy lines due to hit Oz in the next 12 months at
THE major event on the Australian Toy Calendar.
The event being, The Australian Toy, Hobby, &
Nursery Fair, but let's just call it 'Australian Toy Fair'. This annual Toy
Industry showcase brings together more than 190 exhibitors and every toy buyer
from the major retailers through to the small independents. It is 5 days of
product review, number crunching, deal making, and hand shaking. You know, the
glamorous side of the business.
Held in the Melbourne Exhibition Centre with over 17,000 square meters of
comprehensive product displays in distributor stands, stalls, and booths, it was
fortunate we had been supplied with a map & guide in order to quickly track
down the latest Star Wars items.
Click on each of the company logos below to see just what
was on offer, or scroll down to see which toys took out the top award in each of
the ten categories, plus which was voted Best Toy of 2004.
