Mousedroid Moderator, MIKE S has posted a plethora of photos from his visit to the Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum. Check out his Gallery Tour Here.
Pages of images focusing on Star Wars costumes, vehicles, artwork, and weapons. But the props are not what it is all about. Be sure to get yourself along to find out just how close science is to our sci-fi dreams. Thanks Mike. _________________ Mousedroid (Admin & Owner)

| Thanks man - the place is low on light due to the costumes and props being sensitive to excessive light exposure, but it kind of adds to the atmosphere in there. |

| Great photos Mike. Some of mine ended up being a bit blurry due to me not being the greatest photographer in the world. |

To be honest, I was surprised that you could take photos. Years ago I went to the Powerhouse Museum and they had a Star Trek exhibit on and you weren't allowed to take photos as the flash could "damage" the sets, props, costumes etc. So when I went and saw the Magic of Myth tour, I didn't take any photos because I thought the same policy would apply.
My favourite part of that exhibit was where the 2 Trilogy met. Seeing Darth Vader opposite Darth Maul was awesome. Seeing Vader in person was awe inspring, I could see why he would be feared. I know it was just a suit, but he was very imposing.
But, great pics Mike _________________

Apparently Uncle George had a much more relaxed set of rules this time around.
Cameras and Video Cameras are OK!
People were going nuts taking pics with cameras and camera phones etc.
The atmosphere was great and people were so courteous when it came to me taking a picture - standing out of the way etc.
And yes, Vader in person was awe inspiring!!
All that went through my head when I saw this stuff was the word "Iconic" and what really impressed me was the younger kids - from young school girls to even younger kids knew who all the characters were!
I overheard a young school girl say to her peer "Oh look, there's Sebulba's Pod Racer" and I overheard another younger child talking about wanting to be a "Shadow Trooper" - really blew me away and made me feel kinda proud in a way. |

No Mando at all, but there was a Boba walking around in costume!
Which reminds me, on the way home from the exhibit, I started wondering about some of the parallels between the science of Star Wars and our real world science and something dawned on me - they never touched on the whole Cloning thing!
Scientists have been experimenting with cloning for some time and I believe there was a missed opportunity there - would you agree? |
